The Open the Sea Blue Pewter Mezuzah is a sculptural mezuzah case inspired by the splitting of the sea. Made in Israel, this symbolic mezuzah cover combines silver-toned pewter and brass, blue enamel, two crystals, a stylized Shin, and engraved Hebrew verses.

A cobalt channel suggests water opening as raised sides frame the inscription. The contrast distinguishes it among blue mezuzah cases.

Open the Sea Mezuzah Hebrew Inscription

The engraving reproduces Exodus 14:21–22, describing the sea dividing and the Israelites crossing on dry ground.

Transliteration: Vayet Moshe et yado al hayam; vayolech Adonai et hayam beruach kadim azah kol halailah; vayasem et hayam lecharavah; vayibak’u hamayim. Vayavo’u v’nei Yisrael betoch hayam bayabashah; v’hamayim lahem chomah miminam umismolam.

Complete translation: “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea with a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel came into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right and on their left.”

The scene is Kriat Yam Suf (קְרִיעַת יַם סוּף, pronounced “kree-AHT yahm SOOF,” splitting of the Sea of Reeds). It is central to the Passover Haggadah.

Open the Sea Pewter Mezuzah Design

The flowing cast form gives it the dimensional quality associated with pewter mezuzahs.

Warm details connect the cool silver finish to other brass mezuzahs.

Two faceted blue accents give this unique mezuzah a jewel-like focal point.

Open the Sea Mezuzah Scroll Fit

This case fits a kosher scroll up to 4 inches. A compatible kosher mezuzah scroll purchased with it can be rolled, sealed, and inserted before shipping.

The klaf (קְלָף, pronounced “klahf,” parchment) fulfills the mitzvah (מִצְוָה, pronounced “mitz-vah,” commandment); the case protects it. Our guide to the mezuzah scroll explains the sacred text inside and the skill of the Sofer who writes it.

Mounting the Open the Sea Mezuzah

Use both mounting points so the case remains firmly fixed. On a protected exterior doorway, seal the rear opening and avoid direct rain or spray.

Made in Israel, it suits an entrance, study, family room, or gift occasion. It is meaningful for someone drawn to Exodus imagery or artistic mezuzahs.
